Meet the BicyclingHub.com Team

  JennJennifer Clunie

A recent transplant to the West Coast, she couldn’t be more excited to reside in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon. As former Executive Director for the New York Bicycling Coalition, she traveled across the state to offer bicycle safety education classes, conduct Share the Road trainings for Driver’s Improvement Programs, police departments, and local Traffic Safety Boards. Equally passionate about road and mountain-biking, she continues to network with fellow cyclists, bike clubs, transportation officials, cycling-related businesses, community educators, advocates and non-profit organizations regarding bicycling and pedestrian issues. In addition, she is a certified Spinning instructor, former member of the LUNA Chix Mountain Bike Ambassador Team, and Team Velo Bella. Jenn is counting the days until the 2011 cyclocross season begins.

  DougDoug Duguay

After selling jerseys on eBay to pay his mortgage, Doug Duguay launched BicyclingHub from his home in 2001 after a productive six-hour coding session. A native of the Pacific Northwest, Doug’s passion for cycling already had plenty of momentum when he moved to Portland, the town that inspired him to take up all manner of racing, from cyclocross and track to road and stage races. He considers starting BicyclingHub a lucky accident, and while running a business has cut into some of his training time, he’s chasing the idea of a race comeback--something he contemplates while climbing Portland’s west hills. Doug is BicyclingHub’s resident bibshort expert.

  CrystalCrystal Eppinger

As a native to the Pacific Northwest, Crystal began cycling a few years after she moved to Portland. Starting as a commuter, she quickly developed a love for touring and racing. An exercise junkie who recently expanded her interests to include triathlons amongst many other outdoor pursuits, Crystal is one of the few and proud female single speed cyclocross racers slinging mud and having fun doing it. She attempts to further share her passion by leading a ladies off-road ride and cyclocross practice in Portland throughout the year. When Crystal isn't riding her bike, she continues to pursue an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics and hopes to aid in solving our energy crisis to keep this earth beautiful for all future cyclists.

  KevinKevin Langton

After a 19-year hiatus between his kiddie tricycle and a full-grown racing bike, Kevin developed a passion for two wheels as he swerved through the streets of London as a bicycle messenger. His post-messenger life included recreational riding, road racing, some time-trialing and a little track racing. After moving to Portland in 2007, he continues to crush his riding companions during long climbs—despite incurring a knee injury on an icy Winter training ride. Kevin favours climbing, not so much the descents, and likes high performance, comfortable pieces. For the record, he’s the guy with the accent.

  AdrianAdrian Richardson

A Portland native, Adrian began cycling as a commuter when gas and teen driving insurance became too expensive and promptly fell in love with the cycling lifestyle. With his desire for speed and athletic background, he took that new found joy to bike racing. On his third season, Adrian is currently a Category 2 road racer; having competed at a national level, he is currently pursuing his Cat 1 upgrade. A psychology student at Portland State University, he spends his free time attempting to analyze Diego's manic behavior when the UPS and FedEX deliveries arrive. Adrian's 2011 summer plan is to become a bike messenger in NYC, and be back in time for some muddy Portland cyclocross!

  BettyBetty Farrier

As a Portland native, she developed a bad case of bike fever a few years ago and has never looked back. Enjoying the freedom of car free living and the wealth of bike lanes Portland has to offer, commuting is a daily routine. Currently a member of an all women's cycling group, Sorella Forte, she loves to promote the inspiration and camaraderie shared through cycling. When not on a bike she can be found actively behind the scenes officiating for OBRA at road races, mountain bike and cyclocross venues. Long evening summer sunset rides are her specialty.

  BrianBrian Echerer

Brian has ridden, raced and lived in Portland since 1983 and has always been a roadie at heart. He still remembers as a boy watching Greg LeMond win the Tour De France and wanting to be him. However, Brian enjoys everything bike from trail, riding in the city, and the eclectic Portland cycling scene. In 2008 he started giving back to the cycling community by taking on the chief leadership roll of a local cycling club now called NW Butts on Bikes where we focus on the fun of riding and encouraging new cyclists to join and learn how to be better at the sport. Classifying himself as "competitive recreational" type of rider, he's also become an avid cyclocrosser and loves the adventure. When not working at BicyclingHub.com, he makes cycling-themed jewelry sold at Portland Saturday Market each weekend. Brian says, "Flat out: I have a passion for cycling, bikes and all that comes with it."

  DiegoDiego Duguay

If Diego were a cyclist, he’d be a 200-pound, high-strung roadie with an unbounded sense of enthusiasm for even the most mundane training rides. At BicyclingHub HQ, Diego excels at shredding boxes in front of visitors and jumping onto his colleagues’ laps.
